Current gigs
As I briefly surface in the blog-o-sphere...
I've been accompanying the Sonoma State Chamber Singers, who are preparing performances of four of Mozart's Missa Brevis (K. 49, 65, 192 and 194) that Mozart wrote between the ages of 12 and 20, in Salzburg prior to his move to Vienna. There are 2 performances at the end of April in Windsor and Rohnert Park, that feature vocal soloists and authentic instrument accompaniment.
I'm also involved with Pacific Alliance Stage production of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music. This production run the first 3 weekends of May at Spreckels Performing Arts Center in Rohnert Park.
Coming right up, in what is becoming a tradition, my wife Dana and I are performing this Thursday, April 13, at the Maundy Thursday service at First Congregational United Church of Christ of Santa Rosa. There are readings from the Passion story, and the lights are gradually extinguished as the readings progress. At the end, Dana and I perform Samuel Barber's "The Crucifixion" (from his Hermit Songs Op. 29) and the final lights in the sanctuary are extinguished.
There will be more later...
