Come see THE MIKADO
I think it will be a very fine show (as Ed, as opposed to Arthur, Sullivan might say). Get more info and buy tickets here.
The venue is the Merlo Theater, a small lecture hall in the Luther Burbank Center for the Performing Arts complex. The director is Ann Pool MacNab, one of the founders of the extremely fine G&S ensemble, the San Francisco Lamplighters. The music for this production will be very good, if I do say so myself, as I have assembled a fine group of local wind players (I will play strings on an Alesis keyboard).
I hope to see you there!

2 weeks go by...
The Mozart performances went very well overall. On Friday, we were at Resurrection Parish on Stony Point Road. After a week of rehearsals, it was a little tough to have the energy for a performance, but it went reasonably well.
On Saturday at St. Vincent's in Petaluma, the performance was the best of all. The choir, rested and in an excellent acoustic, sang very well.
On Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Windsor, the matinee went not quite as well. Particularly in the first half, the hall was very warm, and the choir had difficulty concentrating and tuning. Since the first half had much less orchestral accompaniment, flatting was more obvious when the orchestra entered.
Onward to Mikado, which opens next weekend. More on that later...
